This 45-hour overview course introduces participants to careers available in the recreational marine trades with an emphasis on the role of the marine technician. Through lecture, demonstration, hands-on experiences, and field trips, information is gained about opportunities in the following recreational marine trade areas:
• Electronics
• Mechanics
• Boatyard Skills
• Rigging
• Hull Preparation
• Shrink Wrapping
• Boat Transportation
• Marina Operations
• Retail and Customer Service
This course will provide participants with the basic practical information for an entry level position in the recreational marine trades.
Massachusetts Marine Trades Association approves this course.
Participants who successfully complete this course will receive an industry-recognized certificate
