The Massasoit Community College Police Department would like to inform our College Community about the changes to security at this year’s Commencement: As a result of the tragedies in Boston and Newtown, the Massasoit Police Department has made numerous enhancements to the level of security for this year’s Commencement.
Some of these enhancements shall include, but are not limited to; additional police presence, thorough security inspections of all involved areas, establishing limited points of entry, and prohibiting large bags, backpacks, and containers from entering the Commencement area.
We ask that you share with your guests our request for cooperation and consideration as we work together to make your Commencement safe, secure, and a celebration for all to enjoy.
Again, large bags, backpacks, and containers will NOT be allowed into the immediate Commencement area. Members of the community requesting access with the aforementioned items will be directed to voluntarily return the items to their vehicle or be denied access to the event.
