|Q: Why should I consider being part of PLAN?
A: PLAN is a great program that can help you succeed in college and beyond. We have a
wonderful and supportive staff that will give you the time and attention that you may need
while navigating your way through the higher education system. We have many services that
you can benefit from while you are completing a degree at Massasoit Community College .
|Q: How do I qualify for PLAN?
A: You need to fall into at least one of the following categories:
1. Low to moderate income (this is based on taxable income and
will be determined by PLAN staff)
2. First-generation college student (neither parent or guardian
has completed a four-year degree)
3. You have a documented disability according to the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA)
|Q: How do I apply?
A: You can pick up an application at the Brockton campus, call
us to have an application mailed to you, or print one from our
|Q: How many students does the program serve?
A: We are funded for a maximum of 155 students per year.
|Q: Is there an age requirement to be in PLAN?
A: We accept college students of all ages.
|Q: Does PLAN provide financial support?
A: We do not provide financial support but we will assist you in
finding resources for funding.
|Q: Is this program available on both your campuses?
A: PLAN Office is located on the Brockton campus. Students on the Canton campus are encouraged to apply as well. Most services and activities are held on the Brockton campus.
|Q: Is Massasoit Community College the only college in Massachusetts that has this program?
A: There are 20 TRiO Student Support Services programs like PLAN across Massachusetts , which are all located at institutions of higher education. There are many more programs located across the United States .
|Q: Do I have to apply for this program every semester?
A: Once you have been accepted into PLAN, you do not have to reapply as long as you
continue to meet the minimum PLAN standards to be an active participant and enrolled at Massasoit Community College .
