Helping Hands Club Constitution

Purpose:
The purpose of this club shall be to serve as a resource, to provide information, and to foster disability awareness for all disabled and able-bodied students, faculty, and staff of Massasoit Community College.
The goals of the club are many and varied. Some of the major goals will be:
To increase disability awareness for the Massasoit community
To generate new ideas, new possibilities
To encourage and to be encouraged
To teach awareness to others, with EQUALITY as an ultimate goal
Membership:
Membership is open to all Massasoit students, faculty, and staff.
Faculty, staff, and administration are ex-officio members and are ineligible to vote or hold an office.
Members must attend at least one meeting or participate in one activity per semester.
Meetings:
Official meetings will be held the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Activities, social gatherings and special meetings may be held on the first and third Wednesdays of every month during the Fall and Spring semesters.
All meetings will be open; Executive (closed) meetings will not be held.

Officers:

President
1. The president shall preside over all meetings.
2. The president shall be responsible to assure that all articles of this constitution are carried out to the fullest extent.
3. The president shall be responsible for the coordination and running of the club.
September 18, 2008 curate minutes and statistics are kept.
Vice President
1. The vice president shall assume all duties of the president when needed.
2. The vice president shall serve as an officer on all committees.
3. The vice president shall be responsible for the advertisement of upcoming events.
Treasurer
1. The treasurer shall keep active and accurate records of all club funds.
2. The treasurer shall be responsible for the collection of fundraising money.

Compliance Officer(s)
1. The compliance officer(s) shall collect information on current disability issues.
2. The compliance officer(s) shall distribute disability information to the Massasoit community.
3. The compliance officer(s) shall report any code violations to the advisor.
Secretary/Historian
1. The secretary shall be responsible for keeping accurate minutes of all meetings.
2. The secretary shall be responsible for the yearly report.
The secretary shall record all activities of the club.
Elections:
Elections are to be held in the Fall. Term of office is one academic year. All elections must carry a majority vote of voting members in order to be recognized.
