Brockton, Massachusetts On December 17, the Massasoit Veterans Center hosted representatives from American Legion George S. Shepard Post #7 from Easton, MA for a dedication of the new flat-screen television the organization generously donated to the Center. “The members of our Post are pleased to be able to work with the school and Mike, and we are pleased to see that there were veterans in the room for the dedication, they came up and shook our hands and said ‘Thanks’”, said James McAvoy, Post Commander.

The Massasoit Veterans Center officially opened in May and is designed to meet the growing needs of military members, veterans, and their families. Centrally located in the Student Center on the Brockton campus, it is a place where military students can go for assistance with educational benefits, college related issues, and a comfortable place to relax, study, and socialize with other military students. There are computer workstations for class assignments and research, a lounge, and a multimedia conference table for laptops and studying. “The television is a wonderful addition to the Veterans Center and we are extremely grateful for their donation and their support,” said Mike Siegel, Veterans Counselor at Massasoit.
