|Brockton, MA (October 11, 2013) – Massasoit Community College is pleased to announce that Governor Deval Patrick has appointed Bonnie Blackler of Brockton to the college’s Board of Trustees as the alumni trustee. Ms. Blackler was sworn in before the board meeting on October 9th. She will serve in the position which was held by Johanne Rone, who recently concluded two five-year terms of dedicated service.
Ms. Blackler graduated from Massasoit Community College in 1992 and transferred to Bridgewater State College where she graduated with honors in 1996. She has been the president of the Massasoit Community College Alumni Association since 2007.
Founded in 1966, in the heart of southeastern Massachusetts, Massasoit Community College is a public two-year college in the Massachusetts Public Higher Education System. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), one of the six regional accrediting bodies in the United States. Many departments carry additional accreditations. The College offers a full spectrum of associate’s degree programs in arts, sciences, and applied sciences as well as one year and short term certificates across a variety of occupations and interests. In addition the College offers corporate and job skills training courses.
