Massasoit Community College Names William Mitchell as Vice President of Administration / CFO
William Mitchell Brings Twenty-Seven Years of Higher-Ed Experience to Massasoit

BROCKTON, September 24, 2012 – Massasoit Community College is pleased to announce its new Vice President of Administration/CFO, William (Bill) Mitchell. Among other things, he will be responsible for providing fiscal leadership and oversight for the College.

Mr. Mitchell comes to Massasoit with twenty-seven years of experience in higher education, with twenty-three of those years in the business offices at Massasoit and the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth. Recently, as Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Services at UMASS – Dartmouth, he managed a team of 26 employees in the areas of Controller, Budget Office, Procurement, and the Law School financial team, while developing and overseeing an annual operating budget of $230M.

Mr. Mitchell’s extensive experience in financial and strategic planning, accounting and financial operations, and complex budget development management will prove invaluable in his position as Vice President of Administration/CFO at Massasoit Community College. Massasoit Community College is a public two-year college in the Massachusetts Public Higher Education System. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), one of the six regional accrediting bodies in the United States. Many departments carry additional accreditations. The Canton Campus of Massasoit Community College is a full-service campus featuring a wide array of associate degree and certificate programs including diesel technology, architectural technology, engineering technology, dental assisting, medical assisting, HVAC, graphic design, criminal justice, liberal arts, and business. Many of its programs are taught in specialized labs where students gain hands-on experience and training.
