Professor Charles Mastrangelo is of 30 nationwide to receive the International Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society 2014 Distinguished Advisor Award.

Massasoit Professor Charles Mastrangelo
Brockton, MA –Massasoit Professor Charles Mastrangelo is one of thirty nationwide and the only one from New England to receive the 2014 Distinguished Advisor Award presented by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. This award is slated to be presented at the annual International Convention in Orlando, Florida to be held April 24-26.

Professor Mastrangelo began advising the Alpha Kappa Upsilon Chapter (Massasoit’s chapter) of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in 2007. He has been committed to supporting students through their journey toward strong academic achievement, civic and social engagement, and charitable activities both on campus and beyond, as well as prepare them for regional and international academic meetings.

Under his leadership, for 7 years in a row, the Massasoit chapter was a Five-Star Chapter, the highest possible. During his tenure as advisor, Professor Mastrangelo provided enthusiastic support and guidance to students and each year brought students to the International Convention.

Founded in 1966, in the heart of southeastern Massachusetts, Massasoit Community College is a public two-year college in the Massachusetts Public Higher Education System. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), one of the six regional accrediting bodies in the United States. Many departments carry additional accreditations. The College offers a full spectrum of associate’s degree programs in arts, sciences, and applied sciences as well as one year and short term certificates across a variety of occupations and interests. In addition the College offers corporate and job skills training courses.
