Geographic Names Information System - Contains information about almost 2 million physical and cultural geographic features in the United States and its territories.
GEOnet Names Server - provides access to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) and the U.S. Board on Geographic Names' (US BGN) database of foreign geographic feature names.
Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names - The TGN is a structured, world-coverage vocabulary of 1.3 million names, including vernacular and historical names, coordinates, and place types, and descriptive notes, focusing on places important for the study of art and architecture.
Mapfinder - Catalog contains records for over 300,000 maps that cataloged by the American Geographical Society. These records can be retrieved by specifying a geographic location in terms of degrees, minutes and seconds of latitude and longitude, or through a geographic name database using a using place name or zip code.
U.S. Census Gazetteer - Gazetteer is used to identify places to view with the Tiger Map Server and obtain census data from the 1990 Census Lookup server. You can search for places, counties or MCDs by entering the name and state abbreviation (optional), or 5-digit zip code.

Census 2000 Cartographic Boundary Files - Geographic data to be used with census data. Downloadable files.
Geocommunity - Access and download data GISDataDepot users are required to have a GeoCommunity account. Many data types of data (DEM, NWI, DLG, LU/LC, and TIGER) are available for free download (Green icon).
Geography Network - Tiger 2000 Data - GIS users can download Census 2000 TIGER/Line Data in shapefile format for an area of interest. Users can choose multiple data layers for a single county or a single data layer for multiple counties and analyze them using GIS software such as ArcGIS and ArcExplorer-Java Edition.
GIS Resource Center - Organized by UCLA. Scroll to the bottom and click on "MAPS & GIS" to find geography links.
Public Health Maps - CDC resources for creating public health maps.
National Atlas of the United States - Click on "50 States" on blue navigation buttons. Select "MA."
1895 US Atlas - Scroll to the bottom to access individual state data.
Blaeu Atlas - Work is considered the Blaeus' crowning achievement in the field of cartography." Produced between 1645 and 1662.
David Rumsey Map Collection - Collection categories include antique atlas, globe, school geography, maritime chart, state, county, city, pocket, wall, children and manuscript maps.
Historical Map and Chart Collection - Includes some of the nation's earliest nautical charts, hydrographic surveys, topographic surveys, geodetic surveys, city plans and Civil War battle maps.
National Atlases of the United States - The Library of Congress has digitized and placed on the web all pages and maps from the 1870, 1880, 1890, and 1970 national atlases.
American Memory Map Collections 1500-1999 - Geography and Map Division, Library of Congress. Access areas: Cities & Towns; Conservation & Environment; Cultural Landscape; Discovery & Exploration; Military Battles; Transportation & Communication.

Atlas Maps - Program allows you to make your own maps. Select, change, and display map layers.
Demographic Data Viewer Interactive - Users can use this viewer to access mapping of 1990 census data. See link below.

US Mexico Demographic Data Viewer - US-Mexico Demographic Data Viewer is an interactive application that provides rapid, interactive data mapping, viewing, and analysis of more than 200 socioeconomic variables that are congruent between the United States and Mexico.
