Code of Federal Regulations - Published by the U.S. Government this site contains the rules and regulations of the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government. It is suggested that this site be searched by subject or government agency.
Congressional Record - official record of the United States House and Senate. Issues are available from 1989 to present. Click on “Daily Digest” to get a comprehensive overview of the proceedings. Site allows searching via word/phrase, member of Congress, section and date.
FindLaw - Provides links to websites dealing with cases and codes, legal news, sites for professionals, students, individuals and businesses. It is one of the more popular websites for finding free legal information.
General Laws of Massachusetts - Contains laws passed by the Massachusetts Legislature from 1997 to present. Searching is allowed via phrase or chapter and section number.
Internet Legal Resource Guide - Links to over 4,000 websites addressing law and the legal profession. The focus of this site is on United States law but there are 238 links to other countries.
Law.Com Law Dictionary - Dictionary of legal terms can be searched by entering the legal term, a word or phrase, or searching by letter.
GPO Access - The United States Government Printing Office is responsible for “producing, procuring, and disseminating printed and electronic publications of the Congress as well as the executive departments and establishments of the Federal Government.” Searching is allowed via the three branches of government, by topic, the A-Z Resource List and by a website search.
Legal Information Institute - Created by Cornell Law School this site posts Supreme Court decisions from 1993 to present. It includes historic decisions such as Brown vs. The Department of Education, Roe vs. Wade, and it includes biographies of the members of the Supreme Court. Information can be found on the U.S. Constitution, some Lower Federal Courts, and International Treaties.
Thomas Legislative Information - From the Legislative Branch of the United States Government. It provides links to Legislation, Congressional Records and Committee Information. Quick links are provided to the House and Senate websites and a directory is provided to find member addresses and phone numbers. Site also includes a “How Congress Makes Laws.” link.  (Library of Congress)
Federal Judicial Center - Congress created this center in 1967 as the principal research and education support office for the U.S. Courts. Choice 11/07
Plymouth Law Library - New web page from Massachusetts Trial Court Law Libraries. Allows free database usage on site - not online. Public Access Westlaw and Lexis available at no charge! Page has directins to the Law Library
First Amendment Center - Goal is to explain the rights and freedoms contained in the First Amendment and their influence on the current development of U.S. society. Choice 2/08.
