CQ Roll Call - Congressional Quarterly (CQ) has been a leader in political journalism since 1945. CQ Roll Call is Congressional Quarterly's free political site.
Democratic Party - Home page of Democratic party - includes party background, agenda, and blog.
Election Resources - Maintained by one individual Manuel Álvarez-Rivera. This site includes election resources for countries around the world. For US elections select the US Flag
How Green Is Your Candidate? - Environment and politics as seen by GRIST - an online environmental journalism website.
MSNBC Decision 2016 Dashboard - Major news source political page.
New York Times - Politics - Up to date coverage of the election from a major new source.
PEW Research - Nonpartisan "fact tank" that provides information on the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. It does so by conducting public opinion polling and social science research; by reporting news and analyzing news coverage; and by holding forums and briefings. It does not take positions on policy issues.
Politico - Focuses on three arenas: the Congress, the 2012 presidential campaign, and lobbying and advocacy.
Religion & Politics - Pew Forum on many issues that bring political and religious issues into conflict and discussion.
Republican Party - Homepage of Republican Party includes information on the party links to position on issues.

Blog: Daily Kos - Started in 2002. An important progressive/liberal blog.
Blog: The Huffington Post - Launched in 2005 this blog uses many guest contributors.
Open Secrets - Research group tracking money in U.S. politics and its effect on elections and public policy. Nonpartisan, independent and nonprofit, the organization aims to create a more educated voter, an involved citizenry and a more responsive government.
Pollster - Polls include Presidential Election, Senate, Governor, and Presidential job approval. Site also provides analysis.
Fact Check - Nonpartisan, nonprofit, "consumer advocate" site for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. Monitors the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases.
Project Vote Smart - Site includes all presidential candidates including minor parties.
Libertarian Party - Barr and Root 2008 Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates.
Geek-the-Vote - Methodology - Popular Mechanics compiled these links to make it easier to compare leading presidential candidates on several issues of interest to their readers, primarily in areas of science and technology.
Political News USA Today - Major online new source section devoted to 2012 election.
Elections - CSM - Major online news source (CSM) devoted to US election news articles and blogs.
