In celebration of African-American History Month, for one weekend only, Massasoit Community College presents by Pulitzer-Prize Winner August Wilson.
Set in 1904, it is a meditation on freedom in the aftermath of emancipation when slavery is a living memory and the reality of Jim Crow has been born. The plot centers on Aunt Ester Tyler, a "washer of souls," whose spiritual services are needed by young Citizen Barlow, a drifter from Alabama who has blood on his hands.
