Driving Miss Daisy is a trip through time, as it chronicles the relationship between a sharply opinionated, but genteel white Southern Jewish widow, Daisy, and her black chauffeur, Hoke, from l948 to l973, which spanned a period of much historical change in this country. After Daisy crashes her car, her son, Boolie secretly hires Hoke as her driver. Driving her own car represents freedom and Daisy is reluctant to give that up.
