|Ruben Teixeira enters his second season as head coach of the Massasoit CC women’s soccer program.
In his first season guiding the Warriors in 2012, Teixeira saw his team post a 7-9-1 record and earned a No. 3 seed in the Massachusetts Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC) Tournament.
Prior to leading the Warriors, Teixeira worked extensively coaching at the high school and club level. Currently, Teixeira coaches three teams, U-14 boys, U-15 girls and U-16 girls, which are all apart of the New England Futbol Club (NEFC). Overall, he has coached at the club level for 10-plus years.
Along with working at the club level, Teixeira has served as junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach at both Canton High School and Stoughton High School in the past.
Teixeira has accumulated several coaching licenses and diplomas, most recently his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Other licenses include: NSCAA National Diploma, USSF National “D” License, NSCAA High School Coaches Diploma, NSCAA Advanced Youth Diploma and NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma. He is currently pursuing his USSF National “B” License.
In addition, he is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Coaches Organization.
Teixeira earned his bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College in 2008, majoring in Operations Management. He was a member of the BSC soccer team.
A native of Lisbon, Portugal, Teixeira trained with a professional soccer club, Amora Futebol Clube, prior to coming to the United States.
He currently resides in Stoughton, Mass, with his wife, the former Megan Dunn. The couple was recently married in April of 2013.
