Campus Emergency Notification System

Massasoit Community College has recently purchased the capability to broadcast messages via multiple communications methods to alert all members of the College community in the event of an emergency. This means that the College can send a message to home and mobile phones, text message, alert beepers, email, and even fax messages, of importance or interest to every student, faculty, and staff member of the institution.

All College email addresses for students, faculty, and staff have been pre-loaded into this system.

In the near future a test of this system will be conducted using the information that you provide to us. When you receive an email message from the system, it will look something like this:

To: undisclosed-recipients
Subject: THIS IS A TEST

This is a test of the Massasoit Community College notification system. Had this been an actual emergency, you would have received incident specific information or instructions. This concludes the test of the Massasoit Community College notification system.

NOTE: The message “sender” will be listed as “MassHigherEd” just as you see it above.

If you have not already done so, please access this portal and enter your preferred contact information by clicking on the following link:

You should enter your preferred phone number(s), email address(es), and other optional notification information such as your text messaging provider and number, beeper information, and secondary phone numbers in order for the system to notify you using these other means.

NOTE: None of the information that you supply will be used for data collection within the College or share with anyone outside the College.

This is an important part of protecting and informing everyone in the Massasoit community of events and circumstances that may affect their safety and well being, as well as keeping you informed of important events at the college such as school closings.

Everything about this system is optional, however the more contact information you are willing to share, the better the system will work for
you and everyone else at the institution.
