The President's Community Advisory Council
is a committee of thirty community leaders who reflect the diversity of the residents of the college service area. A major element of the mission of this Council is to help ensure the incorporation of diversity among the college student body, faculty, staff and trustees. The council presents at least one major forum per semester concerning a diversity issue. Monthly meetings of the Council offer a venue to engage community leaders on multicultural issues. Past forums include topics such as "Slavery in the 21st Century," "Christianity Islam, Judaism" and "Future Issues in Diversity."

The Diversity Committee includes members of the faculty, student body and staff. It convenes frequently to review the impact of current college issues on multiculturalism at MCC. Popular Diversity Committee events and initiatives include the Intercultural Film Festival. This program invites all members of the Massasoit campus community to sponsor an event, which includes an interculturally relevant film, post-film discussion and an information table containing promotional brochures and resources. This program can be adapted for classroom use, training or monthly celebration.

The Collegiate Invitational Leadership Summit on Race, Politics and the Economy is an annual summit designed to assist students in reflecting upon issues of racial and cultural diversity and to display and develop student leadership skills. It provides an opportunity for dialogue among the collegiate populations of the five public institutions of higher education in the Southeastern Massachusetts region: Bridgewater State College, Bristol Community College , Cape Cod Community College , Massasoit Community College and University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

New England Center for Inclusive Teaching
(NECIT) training and workshops for faculty are UMass Boston initiatives. NECIT allows members of a number of colleges to attend inclusiveness seminars to enhance sensitivity and perhaps more importantly to share and develop inclusiveness strategies that can be brought back to a seminarian's home institution. As a participant in this initiative, Massasoit has been afforded the opportunity to further build awareness of specific sensitivity and inclusiveness training needs and to provide campus members an opportunity to share their principles and practices in addition to discuss and evaluate our diversity practices.

The International Touch Club
The purpose of the International Touch club is to represent and further the interest of the diverse student body and promote multicultural understanding.
