Recognizing that our diversity is an important part of our strength, Massasoit created the Office For Institutional Diversity to respond to the needs of our community and ensure that everyone at Massasoit respects the rights and affirms the dignity of all. We strive to construct a safe, trustful environment where together, we can engage in open dialogue.
Since the Office For Institutional Diversity is dedicated to providing an environment in which diverse members of our community can flourish, the Office has the following goals:
- Develop programs to stimulate awareness and promote acceptance of differences on campus and within the community.
- Recommend and encourage the integration of multicultural contributions in the curriculum and course offerings.
- Monitor and assist in the hiring, recruitment and retention of faculty and staff.
- Conduct assessment of current diversity practices.
- Seek to provide conflict resolution for incidences of intolerance.
- Compile diversity information and make available to MCC libraries and appropriate departments.
- Assess students' perception of how well the college meets their needs and recommend programs and activities to address deficiencies.
