The College must follow Massachusetts laws requiring the competitive procurement of all purchases over $5,000, with the $5,000 figure being a college-wide, yearly total. We are required to use State (OSD) contracts or Mass Higher Education Consortium contracts for all purchases whenever those contracts meet our needs, or conduct our own competitively bid procurement. As of July 1, 2009, the College’s policy will reflect the state bid threshold of $5,000.
There is no “approved vendor” list. Vendors may be on a State or MHEC contract, but may only be authorized to sell a portion of their inventory. Please let us know what you need and we can help you find it.
Always contact the Purchasing office before contacting vendors to ensure that proper procedures are followed.
