Nurse Education Program
LPN to RN Evening/Weekend Option

LPNs admitted to this program will be given credit for Nursing I, II and III (16 credits). LPNs coming from Blue Hills Regional Technical High School, Southeastern Regional Technical High School, and Bristol Plymouth Technical High School will also receive credit for Human Growth and Development.

Please note that Nursing A, B, and C are equivalent to Nursing IV and V of the day nursing program. The only modification of the nursing program is the change from two courses - Nursing IV and Nursing V, 9 credits each, to three courses - Nursing A, Nursing B, and Nursing C, 6 credits each.

1 If one tests out of English Composition I, then any Speech, Literature, Journalism, or Foreign Language course may be substituted.
2 Biological Principles (BIOL121) (4 credits) is not required by the nursing program. It is, however, a prerequisite for Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology at Massasoit Community College. When the student takes this course it fulfills the liberal arts elective requirement in the program. The prerequisite may also be met by Challenge of Biological Principles Examination arranged by the Testing and Assessment Office with the permission of the Biology Department.

3 LPNs admitted to this option will be given credit for Nursing I (NURS101), Nursing II (NURS203), and Nursing III (NURS204).
4 Anatomy & Physiology II (BIOL202) must be taken prior to or concurrent with Nursing B.

NOTE: The mathematics competency required for graduation may be fulfilled by passing Introductory Algebra (MATH101) with a grade of C- or better or by passing the computerized placement test.
This program awards the A.S. Degree upon completion of 16 courses and 65 credits.
Keyboarding competency is a requirement for graduation (See Academic Information.)
