The Polysomnography Certificate Program at Massasoit Community College offers the allied health professionals the opportunity for professional and personal advancement in the area of sleep studies. Courses provided in the Polysomnography Certificate Program are designed to prepare students to fully comprehend the basic of sleep technology and the necessary skills to perform various sleep diagnostic exams, along with interpreting sleep studies.
Admission Requirements
1. A completed In-House Application Form
2. A high school diploma or GED Certificate
3. Two (2) letters of reference. One (1) letter in your behalf stating why you would be a good candidate for the program.
4. A copy of your CPR certification
Admission into Program
Upon acceptance into the Polysomnography Program, you will receive an informational packet from the Polysomnography Program Coordinator. The packet will include your clinical affiliation assignment and forms that must be completed before September. The following requirements must be met to complete your acceptance.
1. Physical exam by your personal physician. (Can be within the last six months)
2. Proof of immunizations:
a) Tetnus, Diptheria (Td) booster within ten years.
b) Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR).
c) Hepatitis B Vaccine Series
d) Chicken Pox Screen Text
3. CPR certification
4 C.O.R.I. check
Program Goals
· Provide advanced-level study of the requisite knowledge and skills for polysomnographers to prepare them to assume the positions as sleep technicians .
· Provide the requisite knowledge and skills to better support sleep study centers and patients acquiring sleep studies.
