Some of the topics include scientific method, evolution, cellular and sub-cellular structure, basic cell chemistry, transport across cell membranes, mitosis, meiosis, metabolism, photosynthesis, DNA structure and replication, as well as protein synthesis and patterns of inheritance. |

| The test involves 100 multiple choice questions, and a student must answer 3 out of 5 essay questions. A student needs to answer 60% of the questions correctly out of 100% to pass. 50 points are given for the essay and 50 points are given for the multiple-choice section. |
